Steve Schwinn, Class of 1964, was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, and Senior Class President. While in high school, Steve played football, volleyball, and ran track. He was a member of the 1963 Clermont County League Football Champion Warriors. Steve graduated from Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky in 1969. He returned to Goshen in 1969 to teach Algebra and Geometry at Goshen High School for the next 30 years. During that time, he was Student Council Advisor for 22 years, Class Sponsor, and Math Department Chair. Early in his teaching career, he was assistant varsity football coach and freshman basketball coach. Steve was active in the Goshen Education Association, and served as President from 1978 to 1980. Not long after this, Steve received his Master’s Degree from Wright State University in 1986. During this time, Steve was also active in the Goshen community in which he also lived. Steve was active in Goshen Alumni Association, and served as it’s President for three years. He also served as President of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Council at the time the new church on Buckwheat Road was being constructed. After retirement, Steve became active in the Goshen Historical Society, and served as it’s President from 2000 to 2002. During this time, the historical society installed and upgraded the central heating and air conditioning system in the Anchorage to help preserve their historical documents and artifacts. Steve has been married for 43 years to the former Jackie Campbell of Hazard, Kentucky whom he met in college, and taught second grade at Marr Primary for 30 years. They have one son, Jay, who graduated from Goshen H.S. in 1992. Jay is married to the former Amanda Bitzer who graduated from Goshen H.S. in 2001. They have two grandsons, Dylan, 8, and Tyler, 5. Jay’s family currently reside in Loveland, Ohio In 2001 after their retirement, Steve and Jackie moved to Ft. Myers Beach, Florida where they currently reside enjoying the beach and watching sunsets on the Gulf. Steve has been President of the St. Vincent de Paul Society from the Ascension Catholic Church for the past five years. Steve has traveled extensively with his wife visiting several countries, including China, Tibet, Morocco, Russia, most of Europe, including his favorite, Italy.
