Association 2019 Alumni Newsletter The Goshen High School Alumni Association is pleased to announce we will be presenting our Special Appreciation Award to Kerri Fitzsimmons Mantz at this year’s 121st alumni banquet. Kerri is a 1992 graduate of Goshen High School, former alumni scholarship recipient and a current school guidance counselor. In 2016, Kerri created and organized the Goshen Grads Give Back Project. This was started when a Goshen grad discovered a fellow classmate living homeless on the streets of Cincinnati. Kerri helped the homeless grad get some identification papers and health care but unfortunately, he passed away soon after. This compelled Kerri to organize a drive for gloves, hats, blankets and other clothing for the homeless. Sandwiches, snacks and drinks were packed in 100 care packages and delivered the next day to the homeless in Cincinnati. This project was repeated every year since 2016. This year, Kerri expanded the project to include the Clermont County Homeless Shelter. We are extremely proud of Kerri, the students, teachers and community volunteers who help collect, organize and deliver the packages to the needy in our community. Please keep alert for information about this worthy project next December if you would like to help or donate.
The Alumni Association is happy to announce that this year, Dr Frank Fender, Class of 1958; Eli Leisring, Class of 1995; and John Glancy, Class of 1917 will be inducted into the Goshen High School Alumni Hall of Fame.

Goshen High School Alumni Association 121st Alumni Banquet This year’s Alumni Banquet will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019. Please make your reservation before May 6, 2019. Friendship hour will start at 4:30 in the GHS Lobby with appetizers and beverages being provided by the Alumni Committee. The Friendship Hour is FREE for anyone wishing to attend. Dinner and Presentations will follow the Friendship Hour and begins at 6:30 PM in the gym. The Dinner cost is $20.00 per person.This years Honored Classes are 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019. Everyone who graduated beyond 1969 will be honored. We need a member from each honored class to introduce their class members. If you would like to be the representative for your class, please contact Candy Meadors at 513-310-2626. During the banquet, our newest Hall of Fame members will be inducted and scholarships will be awarded to this year’s winners. Marilyn Hodges will also be presented with her Hall of Fame plaque, since she was unable to attend last year’s banquet. The new Goshen Alumni Officers will also be introduced. They are President, Hillary Gatio; Vice President, Candy Meadors; Secretary, Margie Hadley; and Treasurer, Linda Moore. Mark Slagle will serve as President Emeritus and GHS Alumni Hall of Fame Chairman, Janice Kannenburg will be Scholarship Chairman, David Schwier is our alumni photographer and Joyce Croley is our historian. Goshen High School Alumni Association Scholarships Last year, the GHS Alumni Association was honored to present ten Goshen High School seniors with $1000 scholarships. The deserving recipients were, Avery Amundson, Brooke Ashcraft, Christopher Chandler, Alyssa Chaney, Colton Geary, Logan Mantz, Alexis Payton, Allison Popp, Lyric Rains-Bury and Hannah Walker. There will be only eight scholarships for this year due to dwindling donations. Please consider donating any amount you can afford. Even small amounts allow us to give our grads a college opportunity. If every Goshen graduate donated just one dollar, it would fund two or three scholarships. PLEASE consider a donation this year. If you would like to have your dinner tickets mailed to you, please enclose a SELF ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE with sufficient time to receive it or enclose a note that you will pick it up at the Will Call Desk. The deadline for requests for tickets is May 6, 2019. Mail Requests to P.0 Box 113, Goshen, Ohio, 45122. You may also contact Candy Meadors for dinner tickets at 513-310-2626, ONLY during evening and weekend hours. Please make out checks to the Goshen High School Alumni Association. To eliminate registration at the door, your ticket will be used for the registration. PLEASE FILL IT OUT BEFORE THE DINNER. Door prizes will also be given out and we need your information to make you eligible for a prize.Please visit and join our Facebook page to get current information on events, classmates, reunions and other activities enjoyed by our school and graduates.
